Fay Warrilow

Locality: United Kingdom
Summary: I am an internationally-published writer and consultant specialising in humanitarian and development issues. At present, I am also branching into financial writing. I have lived and worked in many countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Mozambique, and have also worked in Asia and South America. I have worked for international organisations including IRIN, the World Bank, the Mines Awareness Trust, Minority Rights Group International (MRG), the financial website Global Fund Media and the Channel Islands Stock Exchange. I am the author of MRG's 2008 report on the Batwa people of east and central Africa. This was launched at the UN Minorities Forum in Geneva in December 2008. As well as writing, I have experience in training and community development. I work on a consultancy basis for a variety of organisations, but I don't consider this work to be 'solo' - I value the relationships that my work has helped me to forge, and I enjoy meeting and working with people from many different walks of life. I welcome new opportunities to advise or write on issues in my areas of expertise.
